About the event

Have you ever wondered where cocoa, the main ingredient in chocolate, comes from? Have you ever wondered how chocolate is made? Have you ever been curious how professionals taste and evaluate chocolate? What do terms like 'bean-to-bar' and 'craft chocolate' mean?

Over the course of this class, host Clay Gordon, author of Discover Chocolate and a professional chocolate critic for over 20 years, will guide you through each step in the process of making chocolate – from the cocoa farm to the factory to the finer points of tasting (all of Orinoco’s bars will be sampled) and buying chocolate, a journey that will be accompanied by personal anecdotes from his travels.

This class will be about 90 minutes long, and will comprise of hands on education, where you will see, taste, smell, feel, and learn about craft chocolate.

For ages 9 and up please.

Included in every class fee is a $10 credit to bring home any one of the craft chocolate bars Orinoco Chocolate Co. makes. (Credit must be used on the class date.)
